A group of young people complete their Duke of Edinburgh hours at a local community garden centre. As they plant, dig, and banter, we journey through the trials and tribulations of their lives — from grief and mental health to friendship, purpose, and growing up in a world that rarely slows down.

The National Youth Theatre’s StoryFirst show INDIGO, Written by Rechella Ketedzi and Directed by Josie Daxter.
Set in a car on the drive back to university after Mother’s Day, Indigo follows three young women who use the humour and safety of sisterhood to confront unspoken anger and the reality of returning home.

Desparate to escape from it all, Lolade attempts to hitch a ride from some other-worldly beings...Planets, uneaten pizzas, hi-vis jackets, therapists, colanders, crescent moons, school teachers and hope.

The play is a compilation of seven sections each with a number of scenes that range from less than a minute in length to a few minutes long.
